March to July

It starts the way it always does.

A walking tour, watched on the train. A podcast on a run. A friend’s list, scribbled at dinner. An essay at midnight, a screenshot, a PDF about rail passes. One day, Kyoto.

The same moments, one tap each

One tap, from wherever it is.

The share sheet in any app. One click in your browser. The camera, for a note in a friend’s handwriting. Six apps, and it all lands in one library.

As each one arrives

Then each one opens up into words.

Speech becomes a transcript. Even a friend’s handwriting gives up its words. A page is kept whole, even after the link dies. Nothing you saved stays a silent file or a dead link.

August, September

Then you forget. That’s allowed.

The months fill up. Your library keeps everything, whole and still, while it grows around it. When a few saves belong together, it suggests a collection, and waits for you to say yes.

13 October, 6:10 pm, the train in from the airport

Half a memory is enough.

No data yet, and you’re hungry. You remember a ramen place, and that Aiko liked it, and nothing else. Search for what you mean. The whole library is on your phone, so it answers right there.

That night

Five months of saving. One morning, planned.

Ask in your own words. The answer is made from your saves, the video, the podcast, Aiko’s note, the essay, the screenshot and the PDF, and every stop shows which one it came from.

Once it has started, it needs no connection.

Somewhere today is something you’ll want in October.

A video, an episode, a friend’s note. Keep it. Free on the web, your iPhone and iPad, and your browser, all one library.

It lives on your devices, so it opens with no signal.

Your whole library exports in one file, any time.

Every AI feature is off until you switch it on.

What it costs

Free where it costs us nothing. $4 where it does.

Saving, syncing, reading and search run on your own device, so they are free and unlimited. Plus pays for the parts that run on somebody's server.

Free

no card

Saving, reading, search and sync, on as many devices as you like. Five Recall questions a month, and podcasts and videos transcribed within a monthly cap.

  • Unlimited saves — there is no item cap
  • Full-text and meaning-based search, offline
  • Highlights, notes, collections, sharing
  • Summaries and tags produced on your phone

Plus

$4 a month, or $40 a year

Everything in Free, and the things that cost us something to run.

  • Recall without a limit — ask your library anything
  • Complete page copies, kept for good
  • A weekly digest of what you saved
  • Listen: your saves as a narrated programme

First month free. Cancel before it ends and you pay nothing.

The longer version, including what happens if you stop paying

Questions worth answering before you start

Do I need an account?

To sync between devices, yes. The app works signed out on one device, and signing in later brings that library with you.

What happens if I stop paying?

Nothing is taken away. Saving, reading, search and sync keep working; complete page copies are kept for 90 days, and the text of every save stays for good.

Does my library train an AI model?

No. We do not permit the providers we use to train on it, and we choose them on that basis. On-device AI sends nothing anywhere.

Which devices?

iPhone and the web today, with a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Android and desktop apps are being built.

Who makes it?

One person. That is deliberate, and worth reading about before you trust a library to it.
